When it comes to getting their point across, members of Greenpeace get the prize for being fearless. Indeed a friend of mine who is a freelance photographer spent several weeks in a US jail after one particularly tricky protest. So well done the Heathrow protestors hitting the headlines today after raising the baners against climate change on top of a jet which had landed at Heathrow from Manchester. I await with interest more news .........

NEW YEAR CHALLENGE TO NUCLEAR POWER
The Government's plans for a new generation of nuclear power stations could be stymied after GREENPEACE today raised the prospect of a fresh legal challenge. The environmental group, which lodged a successful legal challenge to the energy review last year, says it is ruling nothing out.
An independent group of academics and scientists has also accused the government of conducting a second "flawed" consultation into the future of nuclear power.
The experts said in their report that the five-month consultation was "rushed, undemocratic and failed to properly represent the complexities of the issues involved." Just about par for the New Labour course, isn't it ? Let's hope this shameful railroading is stopped in its tracks.
