CAMPBELL'S CASH COW

Monday starts with a quick look at the Guardian assessment of the Campbell diaries and what they reveal. First thoughts. Whatever shortcomings Gordon Brown may have, thank God Blair is no longer Prime Minister. Secondly, HOW can Campbell still stand by Blair's decision to go to war .

Interesting to note his observation that members of the cabinet looked "physically sick" the day before the Commons vote. What a shame they didn't follow things through logically and resign, thus tipping the balance in the crucial debate in which 139 Labour MPs rebelled.
Blair, we're also told, thought he "had the edge" on his colleagues as he thought elements of Thatcherism were right. Unfortunately for the Labour Party, many of his erstwhile comrades now seem to share the same philosophy. Just in case you're wondering, no I won't be boosting the coffers of this bullying, deeply unpleasant man.
