Appaprently many of these latest reforms, after the other reforms which only took 13 weeks are based on 'behavioral economics, so thats al right then. Its crazy how quickly these changes are being implemented, in other countries such changes would have multi-party commissions(though here that would not mean much)
Reading this i think Purnell is the NL Sir Keith Joseph, the mad monk , he is all about theory with no understanding of how ordinary people live their lives.
'It also suggests attaching conditions to welfare can draw on the latest British interest in nudge economics, and the hidden art of persuasion.
It suggests the welfare review should look at aversion to loss, including loss of high regard in the community; respect for legitimate authority; reciprocity - including a sense of obligation to give something back; and finally social proof, responding to the behaviour of others, such as their successful search for work.'

I thought those folk at Compass were too fuzzy soft left for you Susan. Welcome to the fold!
Cheers Ravi but in fact this camnpaign was initiated by the PCS and Compass has done well to generate support and publicity.
The statement has been signed by a raft of people from Paul Kenny and Mark Serwotka to Neal Lawson of compass and Andrew Fisher of LEAP.
What will really count is whether Labour Mps have the bottle to oppose this legislation. We must also of course.
No, I haven't joined the compass fold. But it would be absurd not to give credit where it is due.LEAP - the LRC's very own think-tank - is also supportive
The campaign is going ballistic massive interest across the web, signatures, protests tomorrow in London, discussions and nager not seen since the poll tax, hopefully there will be public meetings as well. but just as importantly disabled people and others don't feel as alone as they did, they are not victims, but they and other claimants do need allies.
anyway, Purnell may have shot his bolt on this, wanker,
even stuff on politics uk, though describes Compass as a Union!

Opposition to the government's welfare reform programme is reaching fever pitch today, with critics mobilising against the plans before the Queen's Speech.
