BIG GREEN DEBATE.......

In the light of today's Big Green Debate in Hebden Bridge I wish to make it clear where I and many of my comrades in Calder Branch Labour Party stand. ie
1. In favour of the re-nationalisation of the railways
2. Against a new generation of nuclear power stations
3. Opposed to a third, unnecessary, runway at Heathrow as is our MP Chris McCafferty and.....
4. Opposed to a new generation of nuclear weapons ie Trident. Chris McCafferty was one of over 100 Labour MPs who voted against it.
Our views may not be reflected in the majority of the Parliamentary Labour Party and it is a great shame the leadership of the Labour Party does not agree...........but there is hopefully always room for debate and of course winning the argument.

But Susan, Steph Booth is the Calder Valley Parliamentary Candidate, and is diametrically opposed to you and the Calder Branch on these issues.

At a general election the electorate can only vote for the candidate.

Indeed. We have been lucky in the past 12 years to have had a Labour MP. At the next election it will still be a stark choice between Labour and the Tories.

I wonder how many people have actually voted for an MP, we had a bad one once but we voted Labour anyway to get the party elected. Sadly we were duped twelve years ago so now voting Labour is out whom do we vote for.
