A bit of light relief in our current travails - the BBC reports that Esther Rantzen is considering standing against Margaret Moran in Luton as an independent on a "no expenses" ticket. She's hardly Martin Bell and what is more I seem to recall Esther once being a very enthusiastic Tory. Maybe her fellow I'm A Celebrity contestant Jordan will throw her hat in the ring. ........in which case Moran just might be in serious trouble

We seem to go from farce to farce I remember her telling us Thatcher was a breath of Fresh air, perhaps her adverts for insurance is not bringing in enough money £64,000 looks a good deal for her.
Why on earth would Esther Rantzen NEED any expenses?? It does annoy me that everyone's ignoring context: i.e. slightly worse for David Cameron to claim for stuff when he's a millionaire than the ex-teachers and miners and normal people on the Labour benches. Doesn't make them better, but surely makes him worse!
Also don't understand why, when we've known about it for years, the press has never made a fuss about second (3rd, 4th...) jobs - surely not actually doing your job is kind of worse than claiming extra to do it, when you consider that many MPs work 14+ hour days? What about the loss to the taxpayer of all those hours spent doing your 5 directorships? Seems like the bigger scandal to me, but maybe doesn't fit the Telegraph agenda...
didnt she allegedly do adverts for doddgy companies ???
Wasnt she close to Thatcher
wasnt her husband a Tory party member
she has nothing to do with the mainly ethnical diverse population of Luton
Talking of Thatcher
what were her expenses like what about her son
if anyone should stand it should be a BME candidate
why doesnt she disclose how much she gets for the ads
and how many houses she owns
Why not release her BBC expenses
that would make great reading
her and her Tory friends on Thats Life
Really not sure about her being a Tory. I think she's always made it clear she is independent - she is certainly socially liberal
Husband Tory
