Laughed out loud at the row over the unctuous Culture Minister James Purnell apparently airbrushing himself into a photocall when he hadn't, er, turned up. Thought the age of spin was over.......

You've got to admit, though, that it's the opposite of Stalinism...
Watch out for James Purnell as Forest Gump of the Labour movement.
In the next few hours someone will photoshop him into lots of historic photos. I look forward to Lenin at the Finland station with James Purnell behind him. Or James Purnell just behind the photo of the "Big 3" at Yalta!:-)
The other five should take the fall. THEIR bit of the photo is faked, James' is real.
