It suddenly occurred to me this morning that the tale of the Blue Peter Cat could be analagous to Sunday's vote on contemporary resolutions at Labour Conference. You set up a consultation, people tell you what they want . And then ...... you completely ignore what they say and do what you wanted to do anyway. Or maybe in the tradition of famous socialist and footballer Brian Clough, who said he had a style of management as follows : "I say what I want, they say what they want, and then we agree I was right all along and do what I was going to do in the first place." Am I going mad? Possibly.......
